Self-initiated Project

8th Nov 2021

Today for our tutorial we need to present a 5 minute presentation of our work so far. I’ve smashed the screen on my laptop so cant access any of my work so created a powerpoint instead. these session are really good as they give me a deadline (I am very deadline driven) and help me to consolidate my thoughts and focus on what needs to be done.

Outside of the PGCERT work is manic and I’m struggling to make time for my PGcert. overtime I book in an afternoon to focus on this something comes up, a meeting, a tutorial, emails from students or a sick child!

  • This was a really helpful workshop as it clarified some of my thoughts and again helped me home- in on my idea. Up until now I was think my work was non-assessed but Vikki highlighted that it was in-fact extra curricular. This changed thing again as it was extra on-top of the course and also non compulsory as it was an optional workshop. The feedback also make me think about how I was going ton approach this, selecting students or randomly.

  1. Hi Juliet,

Good to read your posts and I agree totally about needing deadlines. I really enjoyed your presentation and you inspired me to be more concise with mine. I also think that analysing data from two participants will potentially give you more depth and that’s something I’m now struggling with having interviewed 12.. I did ask my group to make drawings as well and looking at these was incredibly useful as a way of prompting converations and of visualising something so intangible (comfort zone and how you ‘use’ it)

Also; Thanks so much for sending the transcript of the presentations – that was hugely useful. I haven’t transcribed mine but have listened and typed up notes myself – hours that possibly I could have spent more wisely on doing less!
